Capilla Católica José y María is a Catholic temple. It is located on Calle Robles and Avenida 12 de Octubre. This is in the northern part of Quito. Father Pedro Brüning built it in 1932. It is part of the Colegio Santa Mariana de Jesús.

In February 1924, Father Pedro Brüning started planning this complex. It was for the Marianitas Sisters. The plans included a chapel, a sacristy, a school, and a convent house.

The construction of Capilla Católica José y María followed a schedule. The plans were finished on February 12, 1924. The first stone was laid on October 28, 1925. In 1932, workers focused on the windows and the altar. The chapel was completed that same year.

The church has a single central nave. The entire exterior is made of exposed brick. This is a signature style of Father Brüning’s work. Today, Capilla Católica José y María is one of the few churches. It remains faithful to this original brick style. Many of his other churches have facades. Over time these have been partially or totally painted. Examples include the churches of San Pedro de Conocoto, La Magdalena, San Roque, Santa Clara, and San Sebastián.
