Calvary Assembly of God Church’s roots trace back to the Christian Missionary Alliance Movement. It was 1907 before they moved to the Wayne Annex Building. Remarkable growth followed. 1930 marked a significant turning point. At a special meeting the church officially joined the General Council of the Assemblies of God. Based in Springfield Missouri. Its name was changed from Pentecostal Assembly to Calvary Tabernacle. Later in 1957 it became Calvary Assembly of God Inc of Waynesboro Pennsylvania. A reflection of its growing national ties. But this Chicago congregation maintained its unique identity. A beacon of faith in its community.
