Calumet City has a rich history. It began with nomadic Native Americans. They lived near what is now Dirksen Middle School. They also inhabited the River Oaks Center area. These early inhabitants fished in the Little Calumet River. They trapped waterfowl too.
The area then evolved. European pioneers arrived. Among them was Hans Johann Schrum. He was a German immigrant. Schrum arrived in 1863. He and his wife acquired 275 acres. The land was between State Line Road and the Little Calumet River.
Over time Calumet City transformed. It became a place where people could live, work, and worship. Calumet City Bible Church became a vital part of this community. It offered a place for spiritual growth and fellowship.
The Holy Order of Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church is also known as City Bible Church. This church welcomes all to celebrate in the Lord. Services include Sunday worship at 10:45 AM. Sunday Morning Bible Study is at 10 AM.

Protection Service is held on the first Wednesday monthly at 7pm. Tuesday brings Victory Prayer. It lasts from 9 PM to 11 PM. Friday night vigil starts at 11 PM.
