Welcome to the Burwood Community Presbyterian Church, a beacon of faith in the heart of Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. The church stands proudly at 13 Tennyson Street, Burwood, a testament to the community’s strong religious and cultural spirit. Its origins trace back to 1990, when Reverend Dr John Elnatan, along with a group of dedicated individuals, established a Chinese church rooted in the teachings of the Bible. Initially known as the “Knox City Chinese Presbyterian Church”, the congregation found its permanent home in Burwood in 1995. In 1999, the main church building was expanded, a symbol of the church’s growing influence and commitment to serving the community. Today, this vibrant church welcomes people from diverse backgrounds, offering a welcoming space for worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth. The core tenets of the church are firmly rooted in the Bible, embracing a Protestant, evangelical, and reformed tradition.
