Designed for local weather resistance, the Ping An Finance Centre is a sight to behold. This is Building A, Shanghai Pingan Tower. It stands tall as a testament to architectural innovation. Let’s delve into the story of this iconic structure.

Ping An Finance Centre is more than just a building. It represents Shenzhen’s economic prowess. The tower is a physical and symbolic center of the Futian District. The district is Shenzhen’s burgeoning central business area.

Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates designed the Ping An Finance Centre. They worked with the Ping An Insurance Company. The goal was to create a supertall headquarters. It would become an icon for Shenzhen.

The Ping An Finance Centre connects to nearby properties. It also links to the Gou Wu Gong Yuan metro station. This places the tower within the Pearl River Delta’s high-speed rail corridor. Access to rapidly growing cities is increased by this.

The tower has over 100 floors of office space. There is also a retail and conference podium. Ping An Finance Centre accommodates about 15,500 workers. The observation deck welcomes 9,000 daily visitors.

Eight stone mega-columns anchor the Ping An Finance Centre. These columns rise six hundred meters. They converge at the tower’s peak. This design mediates the tension between earth and sky. The chevron-shaped columns add to the building’s stability.

Glass and stone sheathe the podium. Inside, a central atrium acts as a public space. This sun-lit area hosts meetings, shopping, and dining. Five floors of retail shops terrace away from the tower. This forms an amphitheater-like space.

The Ping An Finance Centre’s facade reduces wind loads by forty percent. Stainless steel piers form a protective net. This shields against lightning strikes.

Upon its completion in 2016, Ping An Finance Centre held significant titles. It became the tallest building in Shenzhen. It was the second tallest in China. And it ranked as the fourth tallest worldwide. The building stands at 599 meters. That is around 1,965 feet. It has 115 stories.

The Ping An International Finance Center Tower houses offices. It also has support facilities, a conference center, retail spaces, and parking. A composite concrete core strengthens the structure. Steel outriggers connect to super-columns. Belt trusses and super diagonals add further support.

CCDI GROUP, founded in 1994, contributed to the project. They provided integrated professional services. Their expertise spans various industry sectors. CCDI operates from offices in Shanghai, Beijing, and other cities.

The tower represents modern architectural achievement. It embodies Shenzhen’s growth and importance. As you stand here, consider the blend of design and functionality. It is this combination that makes the Ping An Finance Centre a true landmark.
