Bonne Maman. A name that whispers of home-baked goodness and childhood memories. Here, in the heart of Paris, the spirit of Bonne Maman thrives, even if this isn’t a physical shop or factory. Bonne Maman is a brand, a feeling, an embodiment of French culinary tradition. It all began in 1971 in a small village in the Lot region of France, Biars-sur-Cère. Jean Gervoson, already a co-founder of the Andros Group, launched this brand with a homemade feel. He named it after the affectionate nickname he used for his maternal grandmother. Bonne Maman, meaning “Grandma” or “Granny,” evokes a sense of warmth, family, and simple pleasures. The iconic red and white gingham lid design was inspired by the curtains of the family farm. Even the handwritten-style label, carefully penned by co-creator Pierre Roche-Bayard, reinforces this sense of authenticity. Bonne Maman jams are promoted as being made with simple ingredients, much like you’d find in your own kitchen. No high fructose corn syrup, additives, or preservatives. Just the pure taste of fruit and sugar, capturing the essence of homemade jam. From its humble beginnings, Bonne Maman expanded its product line in the 1990s to include beloved treats like cookies, madeleines, and tarts. The company continues to innovate, introducing less sweet and more fruit-forward jams, compotes, and even a hazelnut and cocoa spread. Although Bonne Maman products are now available in over 125 countries, the commitment to French production remains. Bonne Maman. It’s more than just a brand. It’s a taste of home, wherever you are.
