This state-of-the-art facility opened in 2012 and was the brainchild of Monash University who wanted to create a new space for the university, for staff and students, and for the wider community. MPARC has been awarded a 5 Star Greenstar – Education V1 rating from the Green Building Council of Australia for its environmentally sustainable design, a testament to their commitment to making a difference. Their architects were inspired by the relatively constrained size of the site, so they decided to stack teaching spaces over three floors, which kept costs down and allowed for a mix of spaces all in one building. The sports hall, a key element of MPARC, is often buzzing with activity, so it’s no surprise that this innovative and vibrant centre has become a landmark at the Peninsula Campus. You can see it from afar, a shining example of Monash University’s dedication to providing spaces for everyone.
