Bishop Ramsey School’s story begins in 1926. Back then it was known as Manor Secondary School. Fast forward to 1977. Manor Secondary School merged with St. Martin’s School in West Drayton. This merger brought about a name change. It became Bishop Ramsey School. The school is named after Bishop Ian Ramsey.

Originally Bishop Ramsey School operated on two sites. The Lower School site on Eastcote Road housed Years 7-9. The Upper School site accommodated Years 10 and the Sixth Form. In 2003 Bishop Ramsey School began a construction project. The aim was to extend the Upper School site. This would allow all students to benefit from the same facilities. By April 2009 Bishop Ramsey Church of England School consolidated onto a single site.

Bishop Ramsey Church of England School educates students aged 11 to 18. The school has a capacity for 1245 pupils. In 2024 the number of pupils was 1265. As of February 2025 10.2% of pupils were eligible for free school meals. Bishop Ramsey School became an academy converter on 1 September 2011. The Veritas Educational Trust is the academy trust. The Diocese of London is the academy sponsor.

Ofsted inspections provide insights into Bishop Ramsey School’s performance. The inspection on 19 November 2024, resulted in “Good” ratings across the board. This included quality of education behaviour and attitudes personal development leadership and management and sixth form provision.
