“Medical waste? Sounds pretty scary, right?” the tour guide chuckled, watching the group’s faces. “But here at the University of Melbourne’s Biohazard Depot, they take safety seriously.” The nondescript building stood before them, its purpose not immediately obvious. “This Biohazard Depot is a vital part of the university’s research facilities. It’s where they safely and responsibly handle all sorts of waste that could pose a risk – think lab samples, medical tools, you name it.” He paused, letting the weight of the information sink in. “They even have special procedures for cytotoxic waste, which is anything used in chemotherapy. It’s all about keeping everyone safe – researchers, students, and even the environment.”
