“Office space for rent”. That’s probably the first thing that comes to mind when seeing the BIF Tower. But let’s look beyond the obvious.

The BIF Tower stands tall. It is an iconic building in South Pest. Originally built as a worker’s residence for postmen, it has transformed over the years.

In the late 1960s, between 1965 and 1969 to be exact, the Hungarian Post commissioned Lászlo Kelemen to design this building. Kelemen, an Ybl Prize-winning architect, created the plans in 1964. The building used panel construction methods. This was around monolithic structures.

Fast forward to mid-summer 2021. Demolition and refurbishment began on the Post Office Building. It was now known as the BIF Tower. After more than a year and a half of construction, the renovated building was handed over to the client in February 2023.

Today the BIF Tower is owned by BIF Zrt. The area is bordered by Üllői Road, Ceglédi Street, and Zágrábi Street.

The demolition required a rethinking of the building’s functions. Also, the layout of the floors had to be re-planned. The technical content was significantly expanded.

The entire area received new power supply. The building got completely new mechanical connections. These included water, sewage, heating, cooling and ventilation. Fire protection systems were installed to protect the building. New sprinkler tanks were installed. A pressurized staircase was added.

The BIF Tower now has a modern design. It also has cost-effective operation. The 16-story building is a premium office building. It has a bright lobby and cafe. There is also a garage with 80 parking spaces. Surface parking is available.

The BIF Tower is easily accessible. It is close to public transport. The M3 metro line and several bus lines are nearby. A tram line also runs close by.

Inside, the BIF Tower offers modern amenities. There is a restaurant and cafe. These are ideal for business lunches. A space for events can host conferences.

The BIF Tower also focuses on sustainability. Modern cooling and heating systems reduce energy consumption. Energy-efficient lighting helps lower operating costs.

If you are seeking office space, consider the BIF Tower. It is a unique blend of history and modern convenience. It stands as a landmark. It shows Budapest’s ever-changing landscape.
