Amidst the vibrant tapestry of Istanbul, a modern marvel awaits. The Beykoz Karlıtepe Merkez Camii stands as a testament to architectural ingenuity and spiritual devotion. This mosque, completed in 2016, isn’t just a place of worship. It’s a beacon of knowledge and a platform for breathtaking panoramic views. The Beykoz Karlıtepe Merkez Camii’s construction journey began in 2008, a vision brought to life by the Karlıtepe Camii Yaptırma Derneği. Its unique design incorporates a three-story structure, with the main prayer hall majestically crowned by a dome. The mosque’s location on a sloping terrain presented a unique challenge. This resulted in the second floor initially serving as the main prayer area before the third floor was completed. The main prayer hall, complemented by a mezzanine, can accommodate 1,100 worshippers. Including the lower floor, the mosque’s capacity expands to an impressive 1,800. The Beykoz Karlıtepe Merkez Camii is more than just a prayer hall. It houses a 4-6 yaş grubu Kur’an Kursu and a Yetişkin Kur’an Kursu, fostering spiritual growth within the community. Two lodgings, a guesthouse, a ghusl area, and an association building with a charming şadırvan underneath provide essential amenities. Adjacent to the mosque is the Kule Bina, a tower generously constructed by two philanthropists. Repurposed as a library, it offers a serene space for contemplation and learning. The Beykoz Karlıtepe Merkez Camii is renowned for its minaret’s observation deck. At a height of 52 meters, accessible by an elevator, it offers an unparalleled vista of the Bosphorus and the surrounding landscape. Below the observation deck, at 44 meters, lies a 90-square-meter library, where visitors can immerse themselves in books while enjoying the stunning views. The mosque’s innovative architecture extends to the prayer hall. The minbar and kursi seamlessly integrate into the mihrab, showcasing a harmonious blend of form and function. The Beykoz Karlıtepe Merkez Camii is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking spiritual enrichment and stunning views. It stands as a modern landmark in the historic landscape of Istanbul.
