Belvue School serves students aged 11 to 19. It is a mixed-gender school with a capacity for 227 pupils. Currently 226 students attend.
The school day at Belvue School starts early. Classes begin at 8:45 am sharp. School finishes at 3:00 pm. Lunchtime is from 12:20 pm to 1:20 pm.
Attendance and punctuality are very important. The school aims for 100% attendance. Belvue School should be called by 8:30 am if a child will be absent or late. Holidays during term time are not allowed. Children should attend school around medical appointments.
Belvue School is committed to academic excellence. The school also offers support, nurture and therapeutic care. They provide personalised pathways for each student. Belvue School focuses on independence, life and work skills too. Respect for all is a key value. Enrichment and celebration are integral parts of the school culture.
The school office is open from 8 am to 4 pm every day during term time. It is available to assist parents and students.
Belvue School maintains a good standard. This was stated in their recent Ofsted inspection in November 2021. Effective and innovative leadership makes it a good and improving school.
Ofsted reports that behaviour and safety are outstanding. Students enjoy school and feel safe. They are extremely engaged in their learning. All students achieve well due to good teaching. A broad range of interesting activities are offered. Excellent relationships between students and staff are obvious.
Belvue School aims to develop phonics further. This is included in the 2022-24 school development plans.
