“In 1996 a man left his country to study theology”. This is how the story of Beirut Nazarene Church began. He had received a calling. He went to Germany. There he joined the European Nazarene Bible College. Two years later he returned to Lebanon. His mission was to establish a church in Beirut Achrafieh. He had a promise from God. It was written in Deuteronomy 11:10-12 and Isaiah 62:10. The early years were challenging. The Beirut Nazarene Church struggled. There were few volunteers. Attendance was low. Resources were scarce. They lacked a proper building. They only had a small room. It could hold a maximum of 30 people. They struggled to engage with the community. Once they tried to distribute Bibles. A man allowed them to use his space. Later he asked them to leave. Despite the hardships Beirut Nazarene Church persevered. It is an Evangelical Wesleyan Holiness church. It’s deeply involved in the community. It helps marginalized and under-resourced people. The church has core values. These values define its identity. They support the denomination’s vision. The church believes in one God the Father Son and Holy Spirit. It believes in the atonement through Jesus Christ. It believes in the sanctification of believers. It uses the Old and New Testaments as sources of truth. The church’s mission is to make Christlike disciples. They do this through ministry evangelism fellowship and worship. They aim to perfect the saints and send the called. The Beirut Nazarene Church continues to serve. It provides for the needy. It shares the good news. It builds community. It welcomes all. It remains a beacon of hope in Beirut. It embodies faith perseverance and love. It is a testament to the power of God’s word. It continues its mission to spread the message of scriptural holiness.
