Bedok Church of Christ

October 1980 marked the humble beginnings of the Bedok Church of Christ. A small group of devoted Christian students, fueled by prayer and a shared vision, established the Siglap Church of Christ. They initially gathered in a modest corner terrace house on Jalan Tua Kong in eastern Singapore. The Bedok Church of Christ, as we know it today, sprung from these roots. The church’s journey involved a couple of relocations before finding its permanent home. In September 1985, the congregation moved into its current building on Bedok Reservoir Road. This building has served as a beacon of faith for the community ever since. The Bedok Church of Christ identifies with the Churches of Christ, a movement originating from the American Restoration Movement. Globally, the Churches of Christ boast a membership of around two million, primarily located in the United States. Here in Singapore, several Churches of Christ thrive, including this one. At its core, the Bedok Church of Christ is a close-knit community centered on Christ. Their mission is threefold: to worship and serve God, and to spread His grace throughout the world. They firmly believe that the church is a welcoming space for everyone to learn, grow in faith, and deepen their love for God. Together, they embark on a spiritual journey as disciples of Christ, guided by the Living Word. They invite all to join their fellowship and experience the joy of communal worship. The Bedok Church of Christ believes in one God, the Father of all, who created and loves humanity. They believe that sin separates us from God. However, they offer hope for reconciliation through forgiveness, found in Jesus Christ through God’s grace. They embrace the Bible as the inspired word of God and hold firm to their belief in Jesus Christ’s eventual return, the resurrection of the dead, and the final judgment.
