Standing on the hallowed turf of Bedfont Sports FC, you might be forgiven for thinking that you’re just in a quiet corner of London. However, this unassuming ground has been the scene of some incredible football moments. It all started in 2002 when Bedfont Sports FC was founded as a Saturday team for an already existing Sunday league side, Bedfont Sunday. They quickly absorbed the Bedfont Eagles youth club. In 2003, Bedfont joined Division One of the Hounslow and District League, going on to win it in their first season. They didn’t stop there. After joining the Middlesex County League in 2004, they went on to win the Middlesex Premier Cup in 2009, cementing their place in the local footballing scene. It wasn’t until 2010 that their home at the Bedfont Recreation Ground saw its first major international game, when it hosted a number of matches for the CONIFA World Football Cup in 2018. This ground may be unassuming, but its history is packed full of drama and excitement, and its future is full of potential.
