Founded in 1947, Bassett House School began as a small school. Sylvia Rentoul started it. It had only six pupils. Now, let me tell you about its journey.

Bassett House School is in North Kensington. It stands near Ladbroke Grove and Latimer Road. The building was originally a large family house. It was built in the late 19th century. In 2001, the entire building was rebuilt substantially.

Bassett House has a unique location. It uses the church hall at St Helen’s Church. This hall is just around the corner from 60 Bassett Road. It serves as an assembly hall. It also functions as a gymnasium. The hall includes three classrooms. It also features a kitchen and a garden.

The main school building has a playground. This playground doubles as a basketball or netball court. Children often visit a nearby park. They go there for additional sports and recreation.

Bassett House School became part of Dukes Education in February 2020. Aatif Hassan, founded and leads Dukes Education. He is now the Chair of Governors at Bassett House.

Bassett House School has sister schools. These are Orchard House School in Chiswick and Prospect House School in Putney. All three schools educate both boys and girls. They start from age 3 or 4. They continue until the students leave for senior schools.

Bassett House School is coeducational. It serves children aged 3 to 11 years old. The school motto is Latin. It is “Quisque Pro Sua Parte.” This means “Each according to his portion and share”.

Bassett House aims to nurture individuality. The staff believes in tailor-made teaching. This approach opens young minds to endless possibilities. They encourage children to think creatively. They also help them form their own ideas.
