Welcome to Bálint Márton Általános és Középiskola. It is located in Törökbálint. This is a special place.
Let’s dive into its story. Bálint Márton Általános Iskola és Középiskola has a rich history. It began as the Törökbálinti Kísérleti Általános Iskola. The school was founded on August 29 1985. This happened through an agreement. It was between the Ministry of Culture Pest County Council and Törökbálint Large Village Council.
Initially it was an elementary school. It taught grades one through eight. It focused on value transfer and skill development. It was a developmental and experimental site.
Due to national interest and constant innovation, a national center was established. In 1989 the Ministry of Culture helped create the National Center for Skill Development at the school.
In September 1990 the institution expanded. This was due to demographics research and local government ideas. The Experimental Gymnasium and Vocational School was founded. It offered gymnasium education. It also had vocational training in two fields. These were IT and hospitality-tourism. The school successfully applied for the World Bank Project.
From January 1 1994 it became the ELTE Experimental Practice School. This happened through a public education agreement. From September 1 1997 it continued. It was the JPTE Experimental Practice School. This was also through a public education agreement.
The Törökbálint Municipality took back the school on July 1 1999. It has been under their care since. Our institution has served many functions. It follows the current charter of the maintainer. Törökbálint City Municipality modified the charter. This happened with resolution 268/2007 on August 30.
The institution now includes an eight-year elementary school. There is a five-year gymnasium. It teaches English and German at an advanced level. A five-year general curriculum gymnasium also exists. Plus there is a five-year vocational school. This includes IT hospitality and tourism. There is also a two-year vocational training program. It offers intermediate and higher levels.
Sometimes the functions combine. For example in the 11th grade the gymnasium IT and tourism students. They attend common knowledge classes together. Then they split for vocational and optional classes. The last six-year gymnasium program started in 2004-2005. The five-year secondary education includes a language preparatory class. Then the classic four years follow. General secondary education covers grades 9-13. Vocational training is from grades 1/14 and 2/15.
The school has had several directors. From 1985 to 1986 Dr. Német István served. He was a math and tech teacher. From 1986 to 1988 Dr. Zsolnai József was the research director. Dr. Német István was the managing director. Two directors led the school. Dr. Zsolnai József served from 1988 to 1997. Kiss Éva was the assigned director from 1997 to 1998. Dr. Zsolnai József was assigned again from 1998 to 1999. Dr. Német István was assigned from 1999 to 2000. He then served as director from 2000 to 2005. Dr. Német István has been the director since 2006.
In the school year of 2013-2014 Bálint Márton Általános Iskola és Középiskola expanded. It gained a new building. It houses the upper grades of the elementary school and the high school. The building has sixteen classrooms. Eight specialized classrooms a swimming pool and a sports hall. It includes lecture and specialized rooms. It creates a 21st-century learning environment. It is one of Europe’s most modern schools.
