The trucking and logistics firm Mainfreight Limited started sponsoring the school in 1993. Mainfreight’s support extends to Information and Communication Technologies. They also support the Alan Duff’s Duffy Books in Homes program. The school renamed itself to Bairds Mainfreight Primary School.

Bairds Mainfreight Primary School has a special set of values. These are Te Hiranga which means Excellence. Whakaute stands for Respect. Ma Te Pono represents Integrity. Hapori me te Whai Wahitanga is Community and Participation. Finally, Te Auahatanga me te Mahi Hou means Creativity and Innovation. These values shape the school’s culture.
