“Classic kiwi bach style” is the theme here at Bach 5. This bach consists of two buildings. They are spaced approximately 10m apart.
Bach 5 is located in Auckland’s Scandrett Regional Park. It offers a glimpse into New Zealand’s holiday past. This is more than just a place to stay. It is a portal to simpler times.
The main building is a historical wooden structure. It has been renovated and decorated in the “classic kiwi bach” style. A small deck graces the front. It offers open-plan living, dining and kitchen areas.
The second building is more modern. It serves as a sleep-out. Together, they create a unique blend of old and new. Bach 5 can accommodate a maximum of six people. The main building features one double bed. The sleep-out has two sets of single bunk beds. Remember the top bunks are not recommended for those under 9.
Inside Bach 5, modern facilities await. A fridge, stove and comfortable beds ensure a pleasant stay. You will need to supply your own bed linen. Bring blankets, duvets, sleeping bags, pillows and towels. Tea towels, food, mosquito repellent and personal items are also needed. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, stove, toaster, and kettle. Cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery are all provided. Each building has its own shower and toilet. A heat pump keeps things cozy.
Accessing Bach 5 requires a little planning. The park gates are open from 6 am to 9 pm during daylight savings. They are open from 6 am to 7 pm during non-daylight saving hours. Follow the access road for about 500m from the park entrance. You will receive a combination code for a locked gate with your booking confirmation.
Staying at Bach 5 comes with a few rules. Animals and pets are prohibited at all times. Keep the bach and surrounding area clean and tidy. Dispose of biodegradable food waste in the worm bin. It is located between Coldham Bach and Graham Bach.
You may have a maximum of 12 people at the house during the day. This includes booked residents and visitors. Combined vehicles are limited to two. Extra vehicles must park in the public car park. Staying in tents or camping in vehicles around the bach is not allowed. Fires are prohibited at all times.
Bach 5 offers a unique experience. It is a blend of history, comfort, and natural beauty.
