Slipping through time, imagine 1730. The Avenue du Pavillon, then just a humble track, appears on the Roussel map. Today, we stand before this avenue, a testament to time and change. Avenue du Pavillon, a street whispering stories of old Belleville. This area, once a separate commune, became part of the Parisian fabric. The avenue’s name, a clue to its past, links it to the fief of Maulny, also known as “le Pavillon”. Around 1840, the avenue received its official name. It carries the echoes of this old estate. A curious incident occurred. A section of the avenue, near Rue Pixérécourt, was briefly declassified. The city later reversed this decision, restoring Avenue du Pavillon to its full length.
