In 1997, a seed of peace was planted in Austin. This seed, the Austin Peace Academy, began its life as a small school in West Campus. It was then known as Peace Elementary School. The Austin Peace Academy was founded by the Muslim community. They wanted to create a place where Muslim American students could thrive. They envisioned a space where students could learn while also preserving their Islamic identity and heritage. The initial enrollment was small, just sixteen students, starting with pre-kindergarten and kindergarten. Soon, Austin Peace Academy outgrew its first home. In 1999, it moved to its current location on Manor Road. The Austin Peace Academy continued to grow and expand its offerings to include grades through 12th. In 2003, the school officially became the Austin Peace Academy, reflecting its broader mission. Today, Austin Peace Academy serves a diverse student body. Their parents come from nineteen different nationalities. The Austin Peace Academy’s commitment to academic excellence led to a significant milestone in 2007. They received accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), a testament to their dedication to high educational standards. The school’s motto, “To produce caring graduates who inspire others and together will change the world for the benefit of humanity”, resonates in everything they do. Austin Peace Academy isn’t just about academics. It’s about building character, fostering a sense of community, and preparing students to make a positive impact on the world.
