You’re standing before the home of Animal Friends, a heartwarming presentation at the Singapore Zoo in Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Animal Friends isn’t just about adorable animals performing tricks. At the Rainforest KidzWorld Amphitheatre, twice daily at 1:30 pm and 4 pm, magic unfolds. The Animal Friends presentation stars a cast of rescued animals, including dogs, cats, mice, and birds. These animals, once abandoned or lost, now captivate audiences with their intelligence and agility. The stars of the show include Benji and Buddy, Golden Retriever brothers who adore people and especially snacks. There’s also George, the “derpy” Japanese Spitz, and his sister Katie, a bit more sensitive to noise. And then there’s Hope, a 17-year-old Singapore Special. Abandoned at a young age, she now lives life on her own terms, often hilariously ignoring her trainers. The Animal Friends show at the Singapore Zoo isn’t just entertainment. It has a purpose. It demonstrates that even natural enemies, like cats and mice, or cats and dogs, can coexist peacefully. It shares the animals’ rescue stories.
