The Allstate Arena was formerly named Rosemont Horizon. It opened on May 11 1980. The arena’s construction cost twenty million dollars. One feature of the Allstate Arena is its timber roof. It muffles sounds from nearby O’Hare International Airport.

Insurance company Allstate acquired naming rights in 1999. They signed a ten-year contract worth over ten million dollars.

Allstate Arena has hosted many sporting events. It has been home to the Chicago Wolves since 1994. The arena hosted DePaul University’s men’s basketball team until 2017. The NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament took place here three times.

The Arena Football League also has a long history here. The Chicago Bruisers played here from 1987 to 1989. ArenaBowl II was hosted in Rosemont. The Chicago Rush returned to the arena in 2001.

Allstate Arena hosted UFC 90 in 2008. This was the first Ultimate Fighting Championship event in Illinois. The Professional Bull Riders have held events here since 2006.

The arena is where the monster truck racing track style known as “Chicago-style” was created.

Allstate Arena is the standard venue for WWE events in Chicago. WWE has held numerous pay-per-view events here. Allstate Arena is one of two venues to host WrestleMania three times.

The arena has been the site of many concerts. Fleetwood Mac cut a red ribbon on stage during their show. Styx recorded their reunion album here in 1996.
