Have you ever noticed the James L. Allen Center? This striking brick building on Campus Drive is more than just another academic building. It is a symbol of the Kellogg School of Management’s long history. Designed by the architectural firm Vickrey, Ovresat, and Awsumb, the Allen Center was built in 1979 as an executive education center. It features 150 luxurious sleeping rooms, classrooms, dining rooms, and even lounges. This facility was named in honor of James L. Allen, an alumnus and trustee of Northwestern who graduated in 1929. This center is not just for students, but it also hosts more than 6,000 executives per year for 160 different programs.
The Allen Center provides a unique environment for learning. It is designed for peer learning and informal interactions among faculty and students.
