Andr\u00e9 Delattre was no ordinary man. He was a French politician. His life was dedicated to public service.

Delattre’s journey began as a schoolteacher. He later became a school director in his hometown. His passion for education shaped his future career.

In 1971, Andr\u00e9 Delattre entered local politics. He served as deputy mayor of Coudekerque-Branche. By 1976, he rose to become the town’s mayor.

That same year, Delattre also became Vice-President of the Urban Community of Dunkirk. He held both positions until 2008. His commitment to the region was unwavering.

In 1979, Andr\u00e9 Delattre expanded his political influence. He was elected as a general councillor for the canton of Dunkirk-East. He defeated the mayor of Dunkirk at the time.

Later, in 1982, a new canton was created. It was named Coudekerque-Branche. Delattre became its general councillor. He left the Dunkirk-East canton to another politician.

However, his winning streak faced a setback in 1985. He was surprisingly defeated in the cantonal elections. Despite this, his political career was far from over.

In 1988, Andr\u00e9 Delattre’s career reached new heights. Following Michel Delebarre’s appointment as Minister, Delattre became a deputy for the Nord region. He served in the National Assembly.

Andr\u00e9 Delattre passed away in Dunkirk. He was later buried in his beloved Coudekerque-Branche.
