The Albayrak Camii opened its doors on May 3 2019. The opening was marked with a Friday prayer. The location is at Çanta Sancaktepe Mahallesi. Key figures attended the inauguration. Ali Partal the Kaymakam. Tülay Kaynarca an Istanbul Member of Parliament. Hacı Bayram Türkoğlu a Hatay Member of Parliament. Volkan Yılmaz the Mayor of Silivri. İdris Çatmakaş the District Mufti. Also present were political party representatives. Civil society organization representatives. And of course the benefactors Muammer Albayrak and Niyazi Albayrak. Many citizens also attended the inauguration.
The ceremony started with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem. Recitations from the Quran followed. Erkan Güngör the architect spoke on behalf of the benefactors. He expressed joy at completing the Albayrak Camii in one year. He also thanked Hacı Muammer Albayrak and Hacı Niyazi Albayrak for their generosity. They spared no expense he said. They built a mini complex to support the mosque. It includes a market a pastry shop a tea room and even a health center. Güngör thanked everyone involved in the construction.
İdris Çatmakaş the District Mufti shared a hadith. The Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him explained the virtue of building mosques. He said whoever builds a mosque for Allah. Allah will build a similar place for them in Paradise. Çatmakaş wished the benefactors well. He also offered Friday greetings.
Volkan Yılmaz the Mayor of Silivri thanked the Albayrak family. He acknowledged their contribution to the city. He prayed that Allah would grant them more opportunities to do good. He also acknowledged those family members who had passed away. He wished everyone a blessed Friday.
Ali Partal the Kaymakam spoke about the role of mosques. He sees it as gathering places for everyone. Rich and poor workers and employers old and young officials and citizens. He expressed his desire for mosques to be more than just places of worship. He wants them to be social areas open 24 hours a day. He envisions them as places where children and youth can feel comfortable. He wants them to be meeting places. He promised to work towards this goal. He congratulated Muammer and Niyazi Albayrak on their beautiful work. He wished everyone a blessed Ramadan in advance.
Following the speeches plaques were presented. Hacı Niyazi Albayrak Hacı Muammer Albayrak and Erkan Güngör received them. Then the ribbon was cut and the Albayrak Camii was officially opened for worship. The first Friday prayer was performed in the mosque. It was attended by a large congregation. Refreshments were served marking the end of the opening program.
