The small chapel was soon deemed insufficient. In October 1912 the congregation purchased a new site. It was at Wilson and Spaulding Avenues. Construction on a permanent building started in October 1913. The new church building was dedicated on April 12 1914. The original portable chapel served as a gymnasium and a smaller chapel.
Expansion continued. A parish house was added in 1922. A larger sanctuary was built between 1923 and 1924. Its dedication was on April 27 1924. Albany Park Lutheran Church was evolving. It was adapting to the needs of its growing congregation.
