Originally, this peak bore other names: Aiguille de la Gouargue or even Aiguille du CAF. The Aiguille Guillermin marks the high point of the Vallon de la Gouargue. One source suggests it was also called Pointe du C.A.F., then later renamed Pointe Guillemin to honor a secretary of the Section de Province, one of the peak’s first climbers. The Mont Puget looms large nearby. This peak offers stunning, panoramic views of the entire massif and surrounding area. Ascending the corridor of the Aiguille Guillermin is a key part of many hikes in the area. Many start from Domaine de Luminy to reach the Chemin du Centaure. That’s where the trail to the Aiguille begins. From the summit plateau, you can enjoy a beautiful ridge walk across Mont Puget. This leads you to a wilder path toward Col de la Candelle. And for those seeking a shortcut, you can bypass the Col altogether. A steeper descent leads to the Treize Contours trail. This trail then connects to Col de Sugiton and back to the starting point. But be warned, the Aiguille Guillermin itself is no walk in the park. The climb involves some tricky maneuvers. The path to the summit involves several sections where you need to use your hands. The payoff is certainly worth the effort. From the top, you are rewarded with breathtaking 360-degree views.
