Harms founded E H Harms Automobile Logistics in the late 1950s. His company grew into a major international car logistics firm. The BLG acquired a stake in the Harms Group in 2002. They took over its management. Harms was known for his social commitment. He received the German Order of Merit First Class in 1990.
The statue’s name Agamemnon is significant. Agamemnon was the king of Mycenae in Greek mythology. He led the conquest of Troy in the Trojan War. The artist compared Harms to Agamemnon.
