Craving a blend of high-speed thrills and tranquil surroundings? Then you’ve arrived at the right place. This is Adventure Island, Tampa’s ultimate water park.

Adventure Island spans 30 acres of pure water-drenched fun. It is located across the street from Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. The park opened its gates on June 7, 1980. Since then, it has been part of United Parks & Resorts.

Here, a Key West atmosphere sets the stage for your adventure. Over fourteen unique attractions await visitors of all ages. Adventure seekers will find eight exhilarating water slides. Twist and spiral down daring corkscrews and open flumes. Race your friends and family down rapids.

Looking for something more relaxing? Guests can dig their toes into the sand. Or unwind in a private cabana all day long. Adventure Island offers the ultimate combination of thrills and relaxation.

Don’t miss the Rapids Racer. It’s a ProSlide dueling racer with the world’s first dueling saucer section. Brave the Solar Vortex or experience the Vanish Point slides. One of the trap door slides is especially thrilling.

The Wahoo Remix is another must-try. This ProSlide Mammoth River ride features dark enclosed tunnels. Multi-color LED lights and sound augment the experience.

For a calmer experience, float along the Rambling Bayou. Or enjoy the waves at Endless Surf. Younger guests will love Fabian’s Fun Port and Splash Attack.

Adventure Island also offers a variety of dining options. Surfside Cafe and Mango Joe’s provide flavorful meals. Grab a sweet treat at Surfside Ice Cream or Colossal Snacks. The Bayou Beach Club and Island Taco Truck offer even more choices.

The Hang Ten Tiki Bar is a great spot to unwind. It offers hand-crafted signature cocktails and local brews. Sports fans can catch their favorite teams on multiple TVs.

Adventure Island is open all year round, with new heaters to provide that endless summer vibe. Guests can enjoy comfortable water temperatures at any time of year.

Some rides have been retired over the years. The Tampa Typhoon water slide closed in 2005. The Gulf Scream was demolished in 2014 to make way for Colossal Curl. Key West Rapids closed in 2019 and was replaced by Solar Vortex. Runaway Rapids was removed in 2021 and replaced by Rapids Racer.

Whether you’re a Florida resident, a group, a member of the military, or a senior citizen, Adventure Island offers discounts. It’s the perfect place for family-friendly fun. Plan a full day to experience everything Adventure Island has to offer. Adventure Island puts a new twist on fun for your next function. The relaxing Key West vibe is just right for groups of all sizes.
