It aimed to convert existing nursing aides into assistant nurses. Three batches of assistant nurses completed this training. This conversion program ended. It was replaced by the 24-month Assistant Nurse Certificate Course. This course began in January 1998 and stopped in 2019.

From the 1960s until 1980 Penang Adventist Hospital sent students to The School of Nursing of the Bangkok Adventist Hospital in Thailand. In July 2010 the college moved again. It relocated to a larger area across the street from the hospital.
