“Sidse, is it true you studied dramaturgy?” a student inquires, their voice echoing slightly in the hallway of Adorno. You might overhear such a conversation right here at Adorno, a building at Aarhus University that houses the media technology department. Named after the renowned philosopher and musicologist Theodor W. Adorno, this place is a hub for students seeking to master the balance between technology and storytelling.
Adorno isn’t just about the technical side of media production. It’s about understanding the power of narrative, the art of captivating an audience. It’s about finding that delicate balance between technical expertise and compelling storytelling that Sidse, the media technician, encourages in her students.
Interestingly, Sidse’s journey to Adorno began in 2012. First, as a student assistant under Allan Nielsen, the former media technician, she honed her skills. Now, she’s a permanent fixture, drawing from her own background in Dramaturgy from Aarhus University to guide students. Having witnessed countless group projects unfold within these walls, Sidse has a unique insight into the dynamics of collaborative filmmaking. She understands the challenges, the potential conflicts, and the immense satisfaction of bringing a shared vision to life.
So, while Adorno is equipped with cutting-edge technology, it’s the human element that truly defines this place. It’s the passion, the creativity, and the shared pursuit of powerful storytelling that resonates within these walls, guided by Sidse’s expertise and dedication.
