Established in 1989 Adnan Menderes Anadolu Lisesi stands proudly before us. It wasn’t always here in its current location in Bahcelievler Istanbul. Initially known as Bakirkoy Anadolu Lisesi the school began its journey in a different building. It served students in the Atakoy district. Imagine the bustling classrooms the friendships forged within those walls.

In 1992 the school moved to its current location in Yayla Bahcelievler. This was also the year it adopted its current name a tribute to the late Prime Minister Adnan Menderes. The name change marked a new chapter in its history. It symbolized a commitment to excellence and service. This was a name that would resonate with generations to come.

Adnan Menderes Anadolu Lisesi has not only excelled academically. It has consistently ranked among the top 100 high schools in Turkey. Its success is also measured by the numerous university placements it secures annually. In 2009 it was ranked second in Istanbul for numerical averages. In 2008 it achieved sixth place overall. It’s a testament to the school’s dedication to fostering well-rounded students. They aren’t just high achievers. They are also passionate and involved.

But Adnan Menderes Anadolu Lisesi is more than just numbers. It’s a vibrant community. Its students organize an annual festival called FestAMAL. This festival has hosted many famous Turkish artists and music groups such as Athena Pinhani and Duman. It’s a showcase of talent and a celebration of school spirit. It also raises money for school initiatives.

This isn’t just a school. This is a hub of activity. This is a place of learning. This is a community center for both the students and the greater Bahcelievler area. A place where bright futures are built. A legacy lives on. A name to be remembered. A school to be celebrated.

The Adnan Menderes Anadolu Lisesi has faced challenges. In 2015 it relocated to a temporary building in Yenibosna. This was while its original building underwent renovations.
