Established in 1969, Ad Solem isn’t just another gallery in the bustling art scene of Paris. It’s a whisper of faith, a legacy carried across borders and woven into the fabric of the city. Ad Solem began its journey in Geneva, under the watchful eye of philosopher and poet Claude Martingay. Initially, it was a humble collection of spiritual books, offering solace and insight. Titles like “L’Ermitage” and “Les Portes du Silence” echoed through quiet corners, inviting contemplation. Then, in 1992, Gregory Solari stepped onto the stage. He transformed Ad Solem from a quiet collection into a vibrant publishing house. He brought contemporary theological works into the light, alongside texts on liturgy, exegesis, mysticism, and spirituality. He even embraced philosophical and poetic voices. Ad Solem found a new home on the Rue Jacob in Paris in 2009. Imagine the hushed reverence of the gallery space, now filled with the weight of words and ideas. Today, Ad Solem continues its mission, publishing around 300 titles a year. Though now part of the Elidia group, it retains its distinct identity. Under Solari’s guidance, it continues to be a beacon, illuminating the intersection of faith and intellect. Ad Solem is more than a gallery.
