“Every child has an inner star waiting to shine.” That’s the belief at Académie of Stars. This talent academy aims to empower young people through the performing arts.
Académie of Stars, founded by Kuo Po, collaborates with MM2 Entertainment. Together, they discover and develop star-quality talents. The goal is to prepare them for the international stage.
Kuo Po’s vision is to nurture young talents in this digital age. Her students have performed at milestone events in Singapore. These include the Singapore Evening for World Leaders 2009 at the Esplanade. They also performed at the Asean Tourism Dinner Gala and the HOMETEAM 50th Anniversary show.
Académie of Stars’ students have showcased their talent internationally. They have graced the stages of New York’s Carnegie Hall. Performances also took place at Disney Paris and Hong Kong.
The Académie focuses on young talents aged 4 to 25. It provides internationally recognized syllabi in music, dance, theater, and communications. Students at Académie of Stars are called protégés.
The Protégé program offers triple-threat performance training. This curriculum leads to certification and performance opportunities. Protégés also benefit from being cast in music videos. Short films and infotainment programming are also part of the experience. These are featured on VidAoS™, the Académie’s web channel.
In 2018, Académie of Stars tried to set a Singapore record. The goal was the “largest human formation of a star”. This event aimed to attract 1,000 participants. It also raised money for Club Rainbow, a charity for chronically ill children.
Kuo Po believes performing arts helps children find confidence. It allows them to believe in themselves. The human star formation symbolized this belief. It empowered children to find their inner star.
