How long would it take to build a church from scratch? For Abundant Life Assembly of God, the story began in 1958. Reverend M.E. Collins had a vision: to establish a new church in Grand Prairie. It started with prayer meetings. A small group gathered in his home, seeking God’s guidance. This dedicated group rented a duplex on Pine Street, holding their first services there. By 1960, Abundant Life Assembly of God had a brand-new building. They continued to expand, adding an educational building in 1970. In 1979, they officially became Abundant Life Assembly of God. The church’s growth continued, leading to a move to Carrier Parkway in 1985. They even held drive-in services that garnered national attention! This church wasn’t just about bricks and mortar. It was about faith, community, and service. Over the years, Abundant Life Assembly of God has seen many pastors, each leaving their mark on the church’s story. Through it all, their commitment to God and their community has never wavered. They have grown into a place where, as their motto says, “you aren’t just a church member, you are our family.”
