1st Avenue Mall opened its doors in November 2010. It quickly became a key part of George Town’s Central Business District. You will find it on Magazine Road. 1st Avenue Mall is conveniently linked to Komtar and Prangin Mall via overhead bridges.

Originally, 1st Avenue Mall was planned as Phase 4 of the Komtar project. A private developer later took over and brought 1st Avenue Mall to life. Upon its completion, 1st Avenue Mall has since attracted many well-known international fashion brands.

Inside 1st Avenue Mall, you will discover a wide array of retail options. There are seven retail floors. These range from LG to L4 and L8. For those driving, 1st Avenue Mall offers three multi-story car park levels. These are located on levels L5 to L7.

The mall once featured Parkson as an anchor tenant. Parkson occupied 95000 square feet across the first four floors. Sadly, it closed due to financial difficulties caused by COVID-19. But don’t worry, many other fantastic stores remain.

Fashion lovers can explore H&M, Skechers, Giordano and Forever 21. Sports enthusiasts can visit Original Classic. For home improvement needs, Mr. D.I.Y. is located on the fourth floor.

Feeling hungry? 1st Avenue Mall boasts a delicious selection of restaurants and cafes. You can enjoy Texas Chicken, Starbucks and Subway. Or try Kenny Rogers Roasters, The Chicken Rice Shop and Seoul Garden. Sushi King, Tealive, A&W, Taco Bell, J.CO Donuts, Pacific Coffee and OldTown White Coffee are also available. Recently, Village Grocer, a premium supermarket chain, opened on Level LG. It occupies a former Padini unit space.

1st Avenue Mall offers entertainment options. TGV Cinemas operates an eight-screen cineplex on Cloud 8. At the time of its launch, it was the first TGV Cinemas in George Town. Also, the biggest Red Box outlet in Malaysia is right here.

Other entertainment includes KB Fun amusement centre on the 3rd floor. A karaoke joint, Red Box, and Rollerka, a roller skating rink, share Cloud 8 with TGV Cineplex. The mall has ample parking spaces.

Getting to 1st Avenue Mall is a breeze. Its central location next to the Komtar Bus Terminal makes it easily accessible. You can hop on the free Rapid Penang CAT bus from anywhere in George Town’s UNESCO World Heritage Site. Most Rapid Penang bus routes pass through the Komtar Bus Terminal.
