This unassuming brick structure, nestled in the heart of what is now the Glenview Park District’s Historic Wagner Farm, witnessed the changing tides of rural life. Thomas and Julia Wagner, the farm’s namesakes, had lived and toiled on this land for nearly two decades. In 1920, they replaced their old farmhouse with this modern marvel. The Wagners, like many of their neighbors, grew corn, oats, and hay to feed their dairy cattle.
