Doesn’t the name 15 Evler Merkez Cami sound like a friendly meeting place? This mosque stands proudly in Zümrütevler Mahallesi. It is a testament to faith and community. Let’s delve into its story.
The 15 Evler Merkez Cami began its journey on June 22, 2012. The 15 Evler Cami Yapma ve Yaşatma Derneği spearheaded the project. Muhsin Eşlegül is the head of this association. He and his team have worked tirelessly. Their goal is to create a spiritual haven for the community.
Currently, a conference hall and temporary worship space are open. These spaces already serve the community’s needs. Imagine the excitement as the main structure takes shape. The 15 Evler Merkez Cami will have space for 1,500 worshippers when complete. The main dome and minarets are under construction. Soon they will grace the skyline.
Muhsin Eşlegül acknowledges the contributions of many. He specifically thanks Maltepe’s mayor Prof. Dr. Mustafa Zengin. The municipality aided with the boiler room, PVC windows, marble, and ceramics. Their support has been invaluable.
Now the focus shifts to the minarets and main domes. Thirty tons of iron and one hundred tons of lead are needed. The community hopes for generous donations to finish the 15 Evler Merkez Cami.
Upon completion, the 15 Evler Merkez Cami promises to be a source of pride. It will be a landmark not only for Zümrütevler but for all of Maltepe. The 15 Evler Merkez Cami aims to be more than just a building. It seeks to be a symbol of unity and devotion. A place where community bonds are strengthened. It will be a legacy for generations.
