Slipping through time, imagine Hiroshima Prefecture in 1960. The Mushido Hatsukaichi Line, or Hiroshima Prefectural Road 294, officially came into existence. Today, we stand at this very route, a vital artery connecting the heart of Hatsukaichi City. The Mushido Hatsukaichi Line stretches approximately 16.6 kilometers, a testament to its enduring importance. The road begins at Mushijosan in Hatsukaichi and winds its way to the city’s Kono area. Along the Mushido Hatsukaichi Line’s path, you’ll encounter historical echoes and modern marvels. The road intersects with significant routes like the Hiroshima Prefectural Road 42, Ota Funakoshi Line, and National Route 433. Even National Route 2 shares a connection with the Mushido Hatsukaichi Line. Interestingly, a section of the Mushido Hatsukaichi Line, between Kujima and Hara, remains impassable to vehicles. This area, near Shimizu Pass, was once slated for tunnel construction. You can still see remnants of this abandoned project near Hara. While the impassable section poses a challenge, the Mushido Hatsukaichi Line perseveres. It’s a vital link in the network of Hiroshima Prefecture’s roads. The Mushido Hatsukaichi Line continues to serve the community, carrying stories of the past into the present.
