There are two theories about the origin of the name \u82b1\u4e71\u30ce\u6edd. One suggests that it comes from the way the water flows. It cascades down creating a scene like cherry blossoms dancing in the wind. Another says it is named after a monk. This monk practiced asceticism at the falls.

Local stories say that the cascading water appears as scattered blossoms. This sight led to it being called \u82b1\u4e71\u30ce\u6edd. Another tale speaks of a mountain priest. He is known as “Fire Riot”. He underwent training at this very waterfall.

The height of \u82b1\u4e71\u30ce\u6edd is approximately 15 meters. Its width is about 3.5 meters. The basin at the bottom is shallow. Even today people come to this waterfall. They come to perform waterfall training.

Interestingly \u82b1\u4e71\u30ce\u6edd was mentioned in the ancient book. It is called “Chikuzen Kokuzo Fudoki”. It was described as the most beautiful waterfall in Chikuzen Province. The water from the falls flows into the Kurae River.
