Fukuoka Technical High School was founded in 1896. It began as Fukuoka Industrial School. The school has consistently embraced innovation. It has adapted to the changing needs of industry.

Initially, the school offered courses in dyeing and weaving. Courses were also held in woodworking and metalworking. Over time, Fukuoka Technical High School expanded its offerings. It introduced new departments like mining. Applied chemistry also became available.

In 1948, Fukuoka Technical High School merged with Fukuoka Tsukushi Industrial School. This merger led to the school’s current name. It became Fukuoka Prefectural Fukuoka Technical High School. The school continued to evolve throughout the 20th century. New departments emerged. Existing departments were reorganized to reflect technological advancements.

The school’s motto reflects its core values. These values are quality, sincerity, health, independence and creation. Fukuoka Technical High School has produced over 30,000 graduates. Alumni contribute significantly to industries. They support society both in Japan and worldwide.

The school song embodies its spirit. Kaneshiro Toyohira wrote the lyrics. Kodama Yufu composed the music. The song resonates with students and alumni alike.

Fukuoka Technical High School adapted to modern needs. The school established the Industrial Technology Department in 1997. In 2005, departments were renamed. This included mechanical engineering. Electrical engineering plus electronic engineering were updated. Information technology, civil engineering and environmental chemistry were also added. Dyeing and design were added.

In 2023, the industrial advancement course was created. That same year the information engineering and electronic engineering departments merged. In April of 2024, construction began on new school buildings. The school is committed to providing a cutting-edge learning environment.
