While it faced challenges due to declining enrollment in later years, the school’s spirit never faltered. In 2006, the school embarked on a journey of transformation under the “Yasunishi High School Initiative.” This initiative aimed to revitalize the learning environment and empower students. It introduced collaborative learning methods, transforming traditional classroom layouts into dynamic, interactive spaces.

In 2011, Hiroshima Prefectural Yasunishi High School partnered with Theodosia L. Brownell High School in Hawaii, forging a bond that allows students from both countries to experience new cultures and perspectives.
