Here stands the New Saho Ohashi Bridge a testament to modern engineering. It links Saho district and Shiro district in Etajima City. It is more than just a structure of steel and concrete.

This bridge officially opened on December 4 2021. Before it people had to take a winding route to get between these two districts. The New Saho Ohashi Bridge created a direct route for locals.

Imagine the relief of residents. They no longer needed to navigate the old curved roads. The bridge cut travel time significantly improving convenience for everyone.

An opening ceremony was held at 9:30 am on the day of the opening. The Saho Aira Love Self-Government Association hosted the event. After a Shinto ritual at the Saho Shrine participants walked across it for the first time. This was a special opportunity. Pedestrians are not normally allowed on the bridge.

Following the opening ceremony a handmade cart race took place by local residents. After the event the bridge was opened to traffic at noon.

The New Saho Ohashi Bridge quickly became an important part of the local infrastructure. It symbolizes progress making daily life easier for the people of Etajima. The bridge’s construction took nine years reflecting the local’s anticipation. The local people waited eagerly for its completion. The bridge’s nickname was even set to be revealed at the opening ceremony.
