“School days, school days, dear old golden rule days.” Does that ring a bell? That’s because we are standing in front of Itoshima City Hatae Elementary School.

Let’s dive into the story of Itoshima City Hatae Elementary School. It’s a tale of origins and transformations.

Back in 1872, the school’s journey began. It started as two separate entities. These were Hatae Elementary School at Zentoku Temple and Itachi Elementary School near Itachi Shrine.

Two years later in 1874, Hatae Elementary School opened. It was near Hatae Shrine in Hatae Honmura.

Time marched on. In 1890, “Hatae Jinjo Elementary School” was established. This happened at the school’s current location.

Then came 1947. Due to educational reforms it was renamed “Maebaru Town Hatae Elementary School”.

More than three decades later in 1983, the school building was expanded. It was a sign of growth and progress.

1990 marked a milestone. Hatae Elementary School celebrated its 100th anniversary. A commemorative ceremony marked the occasion.

In 1996, the management building was renovated. This provided better facilities.

2006 brought a change. Higashikaze Elementary School was separated from Hatae Elementary.

In 2010, the school got its current name. It became Itoshima City Hatae Elementary School. This renaming occurred due to a merger.

Today Itoshima City Hatae Elementary School has 708 children and 27 classes. Principal Yasutoshi Shigetomi and Vice Principal Akiki Ogawa lead the school. It’s a place of learning and growth.

The school actively engages in various initiatives. They publish information about school evaluations and operations. There are also surveys on academic abilities and physical fitness.

So, as you stand here remember the journey. From temples and shrines to its current form, Itoshima City Hatae Elementary School continues to evolve. It shapes young minds and prepares them for the future.
