What if a street could tell its own story? That’s the essence of Sanjiaochang Street. Sanjiaochang Street is a vibrant part of Nantong City’s Haimen District. More precisely it is a street in the Jiangsu province.

Established in 2012 Sanjiaochang Street became an official subdistrict. This happened through the approval of the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government. The former Sanjiaochang Town was dissolved. Its villages and residential areas were reorganized. These areas now form Sanjiaochang Street.

Let’s rewind to November 30, 2012. The government approved the cancellation of Sanjiaochang Town. The areas included the former Sanjiaochang Town’s factory west, town west, Qinglong Port. Also factory south, Xiao Wei, Zhao Zhong, Da Hong, Xiao Han, and Zhongxing 9 village committees were included. Further New East Street, Central Street, and Gongfang Street 3 neighborhood committees were added.

The Sanjiaochang Street office is located at 2 Zhonghua East Road. Some areas were transferred to Linjiang Town. This included Ding Lu, Tangxi, Hefeng, Xinfeng, Liu Hong, Weimin, and Fengshun 7 village committees. Also Da Xin Street neighborhood committee became part of Linjiang Town.

Sanjiaochang Street oversees several village-level administrative units. These include New East Street Community and Central Street Community. Also Gongfang Street Community and Factory West Village are part of it. Zhenxi Village and Qinglonggang Village also belong to Sanjiaochang Street. Further Factory South Village and Xiao Wei Village fall under its administration. Zhao Zhong Village and Da Hong Village are within its boundaries. Lastly Xiao Han Village and Zhongxing Village complete the list.

Sanjiaochang Street’s location is precise. Its coordinates are 31°53’43″N 121°15’03″E. The administrative division code is 32 06 84 003. The telephone area code is +86. It uses Beijing time UTC+8.

Imagine the changes Sanjiaochang Street has seen. From a town to a subdistrict its role has evolved. It remains a vital part of Nantong’s Haimen District. Its communities continue to shape its identity. So as you wander through Sanjiaochang Street remember its transformation. It is a testament to the dynamic nature of Chinese towns and cities.
