The villa, also known as Xingguo Guesthouse Building 9, stands at 922 Huashan Road in Changning District. Its original address was Zhujiazhai Village, Nanhui. It sits near the former Dingxiang Garden.

Dingxiang Villa occupies 1,270 square meters. The building area covers 928 square meters. The garden extends over 10,000 square meters.
Du Yuesheng once owned this villa. Also, Cheng Nai Shan penned his collection of short stories, “Dingxiang Villa” here. After 1949, officials drafted the slogan “Grasp revolution, promote production” here. In 1979, it became Xingguo Guesthouse Building 9.
The Shanghai Municipal People’s Government has recognized Dingxiang Villa as a Shanghai Outstanding Historical Building.
