“What’s in a name?” you might ask, standing before SAWARAPIA formerly known as Momochi Palace in Fukuoka. Well in this case quite a lot.
Momochi Palace has been a beloved name for a long time. But in September 2024 it officially changed to SAWARAPIA.
SAWARAPIA is a multi-purpose complex. It is equipped with halls suitable for concerts and conferences. It also features training rooms a cooking studio and traditional Japanese-style rooms.
Imagine the echoes of music and insightful lectures within its walls. The large hall boasts advanced acoustics and lighting. This creates an ideal space for high-quality performances and speeches. It is one of the largest halls in the prefecture steeped in tradition and history.

SAWARAPIA offers various facilities. These include a large hall seating 800 people and a smaller hall for 150. There are also six conference rooms and four training rooms. These spaces can accommodate between 18 and 60 people. You will also find a music room an audio-visual room a cooking studio a Japanese-style room and a tea room.
Keep in mind that using these facilities requires advance booking.
From December 16 2024 to February 6 2025 the main hall is closed for lighting renovations. However the smaller halls and conference rooms remain open.
Getting here is easy. SAWARAPIA is a short walk from Fujisaki Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line.
As you leave SAWARAPIA remember its dual identity. It is both a modern cultural center and a place of cherished memories under its former name Momochi Palace.
