“Please use the Block D parking lot.” This is what the Yumef Field website says. But what is Yumef Field? It is actually the Prince Takamado Memorial JFA Yume Field. This field is more than just a sports facility. It’s a national training center.
The Prince Takamad Memorial JFA Yume Field stands proudly in Mihama-ku Chiba City. Many also know this area as Makuhari. It is a testament to Japan’s commitment to soccer. JFA Yume Field is a facility of the Japan Football Association.
This impressive complex boasts several pitches. There is a sand field for beach soccer. An indoor arena is available for futsal. The natural grass pitch is special. It often hosts training camps. Both the Japanese national men’s and women’s soccer teams use it. If you are an ambitious soccer player, you might meet them here. The artificial turf pitches are available for public rental.
Anyone can visit the JFA Yume Field. Locals often walk around the grounds. One of the walkers shared an interesting detail. When the national team trains a curtain covers the fence. This prevents people from watching their training sessions.
The location of the Prince Takamado Memorial JFA Yume Field is strategic. It is near the Chiba Marine Stadium. This is the home of the Chiba Lotte Marines. A hot spring facility is also nearby. It is called Makuhari Onsen Yuraku no Sato. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing soak. There is even an open-air bath with sea views.
Getting to JFA Yume Field is relatively easy. It is about a 15-minute walk from Kaihinmakuhari Station. The station is on the JR Keiyo Line. Driving is also an option but parking can be tricky. The Block D parking lot is often full. A multipurpose space offers temporary parking.
Inside the Yume Field building autographs of Japanese national soccer players are displayed. You can even see Moriyasu’s autograph. He is the manager of the Japan men’s team. Goal areas, penalty areas and the center circle line are marked on the floor.
In 2018, the name of the field was announced. It was named JFA Dream Field. The logo design comes from art director Asaba Katsumi.
Later in 2019, the facility received an even greater honor. It was officially named Prince Takamado Memorial JFA Yume Field. The name commemorates Prince Takamado.
Today the Prince Takamado Memorial JFA Yume Field continues to inspire. It supports the dreams of soccer players. It strengthens Japan’s position in the soccer world.
