A Blok – Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi Dekanlığı began as the Temel Bilimler Fakültesi. This was on July 20 1982. Before that, it was formed in 1971. Various departments related to basic and general sciences merged. The Meteorology Department joined too. Meteorology Engineering began in 1971-1972. Later, Matematik Mühendisliği accepted students from 1973-1974. The first graduates emerged in 1977.
The Ekonomi bilim dalları departed to form the İşletme Mühendisliği Fakültesi in 1977-1978. Fizik Mühendisliği started education in 1981-1982. In 1982, Meteoroloji Mühendisliği Bölümü moved to the Uçak ve Uzay Bilimleri Fakültesi. This was away from Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi. The Kimya Bölümü formed. It combined Anorganik Kimya Organik Kimya Analitik Kimya Fiziko Kimya Teorik Kimya and Koordinasyon Kimyası.
A Blok – Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi expanded its horizons in 1997. The İnsan ve Toplum Bilimleri Bölümü emerged. It aimed to foster critical thinking about society. Students explore power freedom and justice. They examine science’s impact on humanity.
In 1998, the Moleküler Biyoloji ve Genetik Bölümü was established. It started as the Biyoloji Bölümü. It heavily focused on molecular biology and genetics. By 2000, with YÖK’s approval it fully transformed. It became the Moleküler Biyoloji ve Genetik Bölümü.
Today A Blok – Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi Dekanlığı comprises several departments. These are Matematik Fizik Mühendisliği Kimya İnsan ve Toplum Bilimleri and Moleküler Biyoloji ve Genetik. Each department contributes to a rich tapestry of knowledge.
